I enjoy your posts Mike. I read that post earlier on X. It really sounds like a difficult situation. I guess the government is playing chicken with the economy but how long can this go down with keeping the peg of the currency at 2% a month and inflation 4% or maybe even higher?

Great points. Wild but true it's cheaper to make it and transport it all the way to Argentina vs. produce it in Argentina. There will be no more industries left in Argentina. The cost to manufacture anything will be too high.

My friend had a great job here working for an American company. They shut down and fired everyone. Closed their office in BA. That sounds like it will be the fate of many.

Yes a lot of foreign companies have closed shop here. I heard about a few openings mainly in financial services or banks but entire companies have pulled out of Argentina as it is not competitive.

It is going to be a problem if it's just a commodities boom and everything else goes under. That isn't a long term solution for Argentina.
