What a colossal pile of dung, I feel dumber for having read that
Is it the truth? First time in 90 years that more people moved out than in?? That can't be right. With all the craziness in the world I am glad I am living here. Makes me realize how lucky I am to be here. Still the best country in the world. Easily. What a colossal pile of dung, I feel dumber for having read that
I couldn't have said it better. I moved out of the US because I married a local and her family is all here and her business. I am proudly an American and love home. Even though I live in Argentina I always consider America my home. I miss it all the time. My folks and family are all back there. I agree there is no better country out there than America.People have been talking about the USA's demise forever. The USA will always be the best country in the world. That won't change. So many around the world envy America for good reason. All the power to those that want to leave the USA and move to other countries. That is their right and prerogative but it will always be the best country in the world.
The plain truth for many that have left is they simply can't afford to live in the greatest country in the world. I know many that did not want to move and would prefer to live in the USA but to be honest, a great deal of people that are forced to move out didn't work nearly hard enough or save, or invest or plan better when they were younger.
Not putting all the blame on them but I have run across alot of these types over my 25 years working and living and investing in Latin America. I see the same thing today with many younger opting to have fun and and work nearly has hard or long as they should. Passing up the best income years of their life.
God bless the USA.

Exactly why do you think the USA will always be the 'best' country in the world? Please give some actual evidence and not just opinion. The USA will always be the best country in the world.

What the data actually shows according to Fortune.com
- In 2025 the U.S. experienced negative net migration, meaning more people left the country than moved in, which is the first time this has occurred since the mid‑1930s (the Great Depression era).people+3
- A Wall Street Journal analysis and Brookings‑affiliated calculations estimate that in‑migration fell and out‑migration rose, leading to a net loss on the order of around 150,000 people in 2025, with some estimates suggesting the real outflow could be higher once all countries report fully.artsakh+3
"Millions"? You're funny. Naive as hell, but FUNNY!millions
Thanks!"Millions"? You're funny. Naive as hell, but FUNNY!
Oh, wow, groundbreaking insight there—Mexicans topping the immigrant charts at 23% of 47.8 million as of 2023. Because nothing says "fresh take" like recycling a stat that's been floating around since the last census update."Mexicans are the largest group of immigrants in the United States, accounting for about 23 percent of all 47.8 million foreign-born residents as of 2023."
I sure do appreciate the compliments 🙂Oh, wow, groundbreaking insight there—Mexicans topping the immigrant charts at 23% of 47.8 million as of 2023. Because nothing says "fresh take" like recycling a stat that's been floating around since the last census update.
This is how I look at it also. So many around the world dream to live here. So many around the world risk their life to get here. So many end up here with nothing. But then end up building up a good life here. Only in the USA can you take nothing and with hard work build something up if you have the desire to work hard.Maybe ask the many millions of people that risk life & limb to get here.
It may have escaped your notice but in 2025 there was a change in immigration policy, making it pretty difficult to get into the US and really easy to leave. Before this, pretty much all the growth in the US labor force came from immigration.

@Content Provider if you don't think the U.S. is the best country in the world where do you think is? What are your favorites? Totally would agree with the others that say the U.S. is hands down the best country. @CraigM is absolutely right.Maybe ask the many millions of people that risk life & limb to get here.

C'mon Uncle Wong, what kind of evidence is that 🙂@Content Provider if you don't think the U.S. is the best country in the world where do you think is? What are your favorites? Totally would agree with the others that say the U.S. is hands down the best country. @CraigM is absolutely right.
My parents came from China to the USA. With almost nothing and really made a great life for me and my siblings. I am always very thankful that they made the journey here and I am not alone. I have many friends from Vietnam who came here with their parents as boat people and all feel so fortunate to be here.
Man if you are really asking for reasons why the USA will always be the best country in the world I just think that you are never going to get a lot of people to agree with you. And that is ok too. What the data actually shows according to Fortune.com

On “record numbers” of Americans leaving
- Reporting and commentary describe 2025 as a rare and historically significant year for Americans moving abroad, with at least about 180,000 Americans joining 15 major destination countries for which full data are available, and the total likely higher when other countries are included.wsj+1
- This level of outward movement is framed as “record” in the context of recent decades, but it still represents a relatively small share of the U.S. population, even if the trend is politically and symbolically striking.people+2

I strongly agree with the others that say the USA is the best and it's not even close. I have traveled to over 600 cities in the world in 87 countries in my life. I am a very active traveler and I've seen a lot. I've done a lot. I have started businesses in 6 different countries. I have owned properties and residences in 6 different countries.@Content Provider if you don't think the U.S. is the best country in the world where do you think is? What are your favorites? I agree about the US. What a wonderful country. Even though I live in Argentina I love my country and proud to be American. Truth be told I would rather live in the USA but my savings go much further here in Argentina so I have a much better quality of life in BA vs. US but I will be the first to admit that I get frustrated on a daily basis with one aspect or another vs. US.Man if you are really asking for reasons why the USA will always be the best country in the world I just think that you are never going to get a lot of people to agree with you. This isn't even close. People like to bitch and moan about the USA but it is the best country in the world. Our values, our freedom, our way of life, our safety, things are efficient and work well. There is a system of checks and balances. The judicial system for the most part works well. There is a system that protects consumers and businesses. (Small claims court, Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, etc. etc). Our banking system is stable and rock solid and works very well. You call 911 and you will get assistance anywhere in the country. Hospitals works well, things are efficient and work well (supermarkets, stores, shopping, Amazon, etc etc). The educational system is amazing even at the public school level in many places and if not you can move to a good school district.
People complain about taxes or this or that when often times the loudest complainers pay very little to no taxes. I pay a lot of taxes. I'd rather people just say "thank you" to the people that are supporting much of the USA and be thankful and proud to be American. But most times you can't even get that these days. 🤣
It's a strange thing to me where you have this kind of dynamic. Like @Uncle Wong my parents were immigrants. (South Korea). They came to the USA to have a better life. To provide their kids with a better life. Came from almost nothing and built up a life in the USA. To start from nothing and build everything is an amazing thing that can't happen in many countries around the world.
I didn't have the best childhood and ended up moving out at 17 years old. Started from nothing. Nothing. Put myself through school. Student loans, graduated with six-figure debt. And then built up a very successful career and life. Nothing was handed to me. What other country can a 17 year old starting from scratch built up a success? Not too many like the USA.
I will argue with anyone, any time, anywhere that the USA is the best country in the world and it always will be.
Wow! That is very inspiring to hear you are self made. I always assumed you were from a wealthy family. You were telling me you moved to Argentina to start your company at 28 years old and I know you bought a lot of properties so just assumed you had a trust fund. That is so cool you were able to build up a successful career in both the USA and Argentina!Man if you are really asking for reasons why the USA will always be the best country in the world I just think that you are never going to get a lot of people to agree with you. And that is ok too.
