    The map of defeat

My partner commented that the kiciloff victory speech was signaling a return to Peronism replacing Kirchnerism. She said this because The Campora flags were relegated to the back of the of the crowd while Argentinian flags were flown up front. The National Anthem was played and sung out load...

Newcomer What are some good movies to watch on Netflix to learn Spanish and watch some of the local culture that feature Buenos Aires?

Homo Argentum starring the great Guillermo Francella is in theaters now. It is a a bunch of vignettes of him doing Argentine stereotypes. I reccomend anyone to go see it in theaters right now. You will be surrounded by a bunch of people laughing very hard. 10/10 cultural experience.

If you’re going to Iguazú Falls… do you have to stop by Ciudad del Este?

If you are interested in Engineering or the smuggling of contraband(just seeing it as people cross the bridge) it is worth the trip. It helped me understand the concept of a border on a deeper level. It is also worthwhile to tour the Itaipu dam as it is the largest in the America's and powers...

    Ski Resort Guide 2025

I advise to avoid Argentina/Brazilian School Winter Break. Being caught behind a bunch of Brazilians in a lift line in rented ski jackets on a powder day is a special sort of hell lol. Also have rentals and lift tickets in hand before heading to the hill. For families, I tend to recommend...

Get Out! Noodles, rock, and theater that you can’t quite describe — this weekend in Buenos Aires

Divididos are a great rock band, always playing around the country for decades. Not just an imitation of a US/Uk rock band. They mix some folk influences. I went to Fuerza Bruta because my lady wanted to go. It's a bunch of confetti, people hanging from trusses doing tricks, some Coldplay...

What are the dream companies to work for in Argentina?

Last week I spent a week with my girl in Manhattan, (We are spending the Summer in the USA) and we had no sticker shock on food prices, which I usually do when I am there. One can dine out cheap in NYC, but not in BA. It was nice to get her a shock. I first came in 2022 on a University study...

What are the dream companies to work for in Argentina?

The position in which I have familiarity are Product Owner (Scrum Master) - Just below project manager in the tech space. There are a wide array of monthly salaries in the position. Very common to have 2 people working the same job and one being payed double than the other, not just because...

What are the dream companies to work for in Argentina?

Argentinian tech workers have a strong reputation abroad and Mercado Libre is a cause of that. Some like working for them and others don't, like any company. My partner has worked in tech and now works abroad for Mexico. But she would get recruited by ML all the time. Telecom is very popular for...

Controversy in downtown Buenos Aires: plans to build a Mormon temple next to a historic convent that's nearly 300 years old

My Partner's family has 3 cousins who are Mormon who live in Tigre/San Fernando. The family does not have much money. But the cousins, who are in their early to mid 20'a are all in serious supportive and wholesome relationships, they study hard, go to university and learned English. That support...

    Ski Resort Guide 2025

Yes it is an expensive sport, un poco cheto. I'm glad you get to share a trip with your family. Links are provided to compare prices. In El Bolson at Perito Moreno, you will spend half as much as Bariloche on a ski trip, considering lodging, rental car etc. So in the future, keep that in mind...
