What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

That is what it sounded like. @Darksider415 what do you think it ultimately came down to? People just not having a choice or the left not going out to vote? It is interesting to see the results. I also heard from friends that seems like more homeless lately. This conflicts with the numbers the government is putting out about poverty rates going down.

Did they say he would lose or just they wouldn't be as successful. Most of the stuff online said his party was going to pick up seats. Just was a matter of more or less than 35% wasn't it? Looks like there still isn't a quorum with any party.

I don't know about online predictions but in this forum it was very negative, certainly had this outsider believing Milei could lose. Only Piranha said he would win and I suspect the reasoning was accurate as well (I doubt the US had much to do with it).

Milei's 14 point loss in the Bs As provinical election early September made many , including myself, think that there was no way he would win more than a few seats in the mid term elections.
A couple of friends who are party members actually said to me that the best result they could hope for was to lose by only a few points.
Obviously something happened in the last two weeks to change things.
I really dont think it was Trumps intervention - in fact I know that annoyed quite a few people.
When people saw the possibility of the return of CFKs cronies and the Campora , I think they decided it was worth giving Milei another couple of years to try and sort the mes out

The 14 point loss in the Provincial election is what got most people spooked but in the end it was exactly what Piranha said that people like to complain but when it comes down to it there was no alternative to letting Milei continue on with his plan. Things are in better shape now vs. when he started for most people.

It seemed like no one knew for sure how the vote would turn out. Many people complaining but I would never base local conditions based on what expats think. Most of the times their wishes and hopes aren't aligned with how majority of locals interests are aligned.

What surprised even the consultants though was that a lot of voters in the middle didn't actually support Trump (or couldn't admit it), but on election day they just couldn't stomach another four years of really bad government by preachy, hypocritical elites.

Correct. I never trust polls in either the USA or Argentina now because even if people are complaining or disapproval ratings, you never know how they will end up voting. BA also had heavy flooding in many poorer areas, I'm sure that didn't help either as it was very close in BA but that doesn't account for nationwide appeal. Hopefully Milei's party can make progress with some of these reforms. It won't be a walk in the park. Nothing is easy here.

From being in the middle of it for the past three and a half years, including working locally at one point... It's far, far more anti-Milei than it was at this point last year. People are getting fed up and I'm seeing far, far more folks going through the trash container across the street this month than I have at any point in the past year.

It's not looking great for LLA, imo.

Sad to see homeless #s increase. But Milei just increased disability payments so hopefully that helps. If he is going to win in 2027 he will have to probably increase assistance to those that need it the most.
