What is the history of the Basilica María Auxiliadora and Parroquia de San Carlos?

The monument of the Salesian Order was built between 1900 and 1910 . Its basilica has a dome crowned by a lantern that holds the image of Mary Help of Christians .

In front is the bell tower that continues with a 64-meter-high spire with a cross. The interior has 3 levels: the crypt with 16 altars, the middle temple and the upper temple .

The place constitutes one of the main historical elements of Almagro and in 2006 the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires declared it a site of historical and cultural interest .
