Navigating Argentina on a Shoestring: 5 Surprising Secrets to Dirt-Cheap Transit

I have yet to take the subway here. I heard it is nasty. A friend got her iPhone stolen on it. Fortunately Ubers and taxis here are very cheap.

The subway is great here except the red line that one is pretty crappy. Also no offence to your friend but you'd have to be a real idiot or living in a daydream to get your iPhone stolen in the subway here
I get what you’re saying—the subway here is generally safe, especially compared to a lot of big cities.

So yeah, the system is solid overall. But it’s a big city. A little awareness goes a long way.

There must be a lot of idiots then. I know many Porteños that had their phones stolen in the subway. You have to be careful.

I generally just walk around or take Ubers. If I'm going from Palermo downtown I might but around here it's easier just to walk.

I think the subway here works well. Not as extensive as other cities around the world but it is cheap and works well. You would actually be surprised how many people have their phones stolen on subways. Some of the thieves are masters. Many locals and tourists too get their stuff stolen on the subway in BA. You always have to be careful.
