Milei vs. Everyone: Can He Survive the Storm Before the Elections?

I don't have any real information that confirms or denies that assumption.
You Milei people crack me up. What proof do you want? Every time a panel is formed to investigate, Milei quickly gets rid of them. You Argentines are dumb and blind. @enbits you are everything wrong with Argentina and why your country is a mess. Probably why you fled to another country to live.

i say if milei doesn’t get rid of his sister before election time he has a bumby time coming. taking bribes from one of the biggest thiefs in the world is easy prey.

if milei’s sister is still there at election time it may make it difficult for him. but lets keep this in mind, taking bribes from of the worlds thiefs is easy prey. trying to orchestrate the deals with orbrigst, ypf, and argentine airlines takes expertise. karina may be a blessing.

Milei paints a dramatic picture of the opposition, claiming that Kirchnerism aims to destroy his economic plan, incite violent protests, or even try to kill him. Whether or not his fears are realistic, this shows how polarized Argentine politics have become ahead of the elections. Surviving the storm will depend not just on his rhetoric, but on whether he can actually deliver results and navigate the deep divisions in the country.

I think Milei is going to win, because among the options available, people tend to choose the ‘lesser evil.’ Even with sensitive issues, like the bribery cases in the disability sector, many will still vote for his party since the opposition is seen as worse. In the end, it’s the typical dynamic of Argentine politics. We’ll see clearly on Monday.

I think, like Guillermo Francos said in an interview today, Libertad Avanza got a bit overconfident. They need to rethink their approach because even if the macroeconomy has improved a lot, people on the ground aren’t feeling it. The everyday folks who get up early to work and barely make it to the 20th of the month can’t see past their own finances, they’re just trying to cope with rising bills, transport costs, and everything else.

I’ve always supported Milei, but I think they need to broaden their focus. He said yesterday that after admitting the defeat, they’re going to fix their mistakes to try to turn things around in October. The bribery scandals in the disability sector definitely played a big role in these elections.

What cracks me up though is Cristina taking credit for the victory, celebrating on the balcony, doesn’t she realize she’s actually detained for corruption? 😂 Let’s hope things improve before October.

Forget about him winning in October. People don’t vote for ideology, they vote with their wallets. Right now, most households are struggling to make ends meet, bills are piling up, and the economy is hitting them hard. No amount of promises or “fixing mistakes” is going to change the fact that everyday people are barely surviving. Milei’s message just isn’t connecting with the reality of the majority.

I get your point, but Milei and his team actually recognized their mistakes, which is more than what the Peronists usually do. They know that for October they need to show people that it’s not just about macroeconomics, the everyday struggles matter too. Admitting the defeat and learning from it is a step in the right direction, and it shows they’re trying to connect with what people are really facing.

Milei has recognised the defeat but says he will continue along the same path , which makes economic sense to his team.

His big mistake in th Bs As provincial election was to make it an election fought on national issues to defeat Kirchernismo once and for all.

If he had fought on provincial issues like lack of security , lack of investment and jobs for the boys, he could have had a different result.

Clearly he is not a politician with a politicians brain.

He needs to tone down his agressiveness and tell people the good things they are doing.

Its going to be a tough time between now and the mid terms .

Lowering inflation is good ( but its still above 30% per year) but he must offer other things to keep the people happy.

He should have gotten rid of his sister a long time ago. No one I know in BA has a good opinion of her. Others that I trust in Buenos Aires tell me flat out she is a crook. I understand loyalty but it sounds like Milei is tying himself to an anchor by sticking with his sister.
