I saw someone asking in another thread why there are so many foreigners in town right now. It has been sleepy the past few months but a lot of tech and crypto folks in town ahead of Devconnect. Supposed to be at least 15,0000 people in town for this.

15,000 people. Is this common to have conventions this large? I did not know they had conventions this big. No wonder I see a lot of foreigners in town. Last night I saw a large group of Indians. They were speaking English but heard them complaining about long flights to BA.

Many foreigners in town for this. I have someone staying in my Airbnb from the conference and @BuySellBA told me that all their properties in the building have been totally full the past few months and several people from this convention staying in my building. I love my apartment and it has been booked non-stop since I got it.

This explains why my sister couldn't find a place for this week. She is staying with me. Last minute trip and she said all the Airbnbs are totally full for the next week.

Darn that is a helluva big conference. I didn't realize BA has conferences this big. Great for the economy.
