What is going on in the wine sector in Argentina lately? I keep reading about long-time winery's going out of business suddenly in the past year.

You can add Bodegas Bianchi to the list. ☠️

Not the last that will experience problems. The peso is just totally uncompetitive. Also heirs never do as good a job as the first generations. Most of the time by the time you get to the second generation or third the heirs all squander the business and fortunes.

Unfortunately many locals have cut back on spending money and wine is one of the things they are cutting back on. Budgets are pinched for many friends. I have seen them cut way back on wine.

Very sad to see what is happening in the industry.

Very true. Wine prices went up but unfortunately salaries not enough to keep up with dining out, drinking wine, smoking and other non essential spending.

I am doing all I can to make up for all the Argentines not drinking wine. My Russian friends and I are drinking as much wine as we can.
