Argentinian movies and tv series to watch with kids.

Hi everyone!

I’m an American mom living in Argentina with my 8-year-old daughter, and we’re trying to watch more local content to help her (and me!) improve our Spanish in a fun way.

Does anyone have recommendations for Argentine movies or TV shows that are family-friendly or great for kids her age? Ideally something light, fun, and easy to follow.

We’ve already watched some of the international stuff on Netflix, but I’d love to explore more local productions. Open to animated shows, live-action, or anything you think a curious, bilingual-ish 8-year-old might enjoy.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Pakapaka is your best friend here! It’s a free channel full of Argentine children’s content. They also have a YouTube channel with tons of short episodes and songs in Spanish, perfect for learning the language.

If your daughter likes musicals and fairy tales, definitely try Floricienta. It’s a classic here in Argentina, full of songs, dances, and magical stories. It’s old-school (early 2000s) but still beloved. Great way to pick up Spanish too!

You could start with Violetta or Soy Luna, both are Argentine Disney productions with catchy songs and positive messages. They’re made for kids around 8–12, and super helpful for Spanish listening skills too. I was a huge fan of those tv shows when I was a kid!
