🇦🇷✂️Aluar Reduces Prices by 25% in Argentina Due to Tax Cuts
Aluar, Argentina’s leading aluminum producer, announced a reduction of up to 25% in the prices of its products for the domestic market during the current quarter. This decision is primarily a response to the elimination of certain taxes and export duties by the national government, such as the PAIS tax and VAT perception at Customs.
The measure is due to the removal of tax-related surcharges, which allows the company to pass on this fiscal relief to its sales prices.
The policy of greater trade openness promoted by the government, aimed at reducing inflation and the so-called “country cost,” as well as supporting sales in a context of economic recovery, also plays a role.
The price reduction will be progressive and will apply to different segments of aluminum products distributed nationwide.
In its statement, Aluar emphasized that it will continue to adjust its domestic prices based on international aluminum values and local differential charges, with the goal of maintaining a competitive and sustainable offering for its industrial clients and distributors.
“The company will implement, during the current quarter, a progressive reduction of up to 25% in premiums [prices] to its distributors and industrial clients,” Aluar stated.
⭐️This news comes amid slowing inflation and official policies aimed at fostering competition through lower tariffs and import taxes on various products. Domestic consumption is still showing slow signs of recovery, which also motivates companies to adjust their prices to sustain demand.
📣Aluar’s price drop is a direct consequence of the removal of taxes and export duties, combined with trade liberalization and the pursuit of greater competitiveness in the local market. When taxes get eliminated the Consumer wins!
