Anyone know prices of assisted living centers or nursing homes in Buenos Aires?

There aren't many of these here in BA and many of them charge that monthly fee mostly for rent and then extra for doctors, therapists, nurses and medicine. One in Nuñez that a friend sends her mother is $8,000 dollars a month. I am not sure how expensive they get in the US but some I heard...

‘The land will be left as ashes’: why Patagonia’s wildfires are almost impossible to stop

Finally they declared it an emergency. https://www.batimes.com.ar/news/argentina/milei-government-declares-emergency-over-patagonia-wildfires.phtml

Decline in birth rates in Argentina

Argentina had one of the biggest drops in fertility rates in the world. Just like other counties it is going to have huge problems in the future if people don't have more kids. The only ones having kids here seem to be the Russians that all seem pregnant or have multiple young kids.

Argentina President Javier Milei just sat with President Trump to sign the Board of Peace Accord

This cracks me up. Milei certainly beats to his own drum.

Thoughts on relocating to Mendoza from CABA

Bummer. It is so beautiful there. Unless you have to be here for work or prefer very large cities I think Mendoza would be ideal.

New wave of shutdowns and layoffs puts Argentine industry on alert

Agree. I don't think it is the government's job to protect industries. That is what Trump wants to do but if the USA did that and brought manufacturing to the US then cost of thinks would be crazy high just like they were in Argentina. You will see $300 dollar shirts like you can see in...

Thoughts on relocating to Mendoza from CABA

Did you make the move @Jakoval? I just visited Mendoza and loved it. Costs are much lower there and quality of life is higher. Great views and lifestyle. Less hectic and slower pace of life and less pollution and noise.

New Real Estate Developer Looking to Network

I rent the same Airbnb in Palermo each year. There are a few buildings that started and they have about 10 floors up and it has had NO activity for 2.5 years now. What happens in these projects? Did they run out of money? It is just abandoned. Did the developers just run off with people's money?

This couple was scammed into paying nearly $30,000 for lunch in Buenos Aires

How how how is this possible? I had to read the article twice as I wasn't sure it was real. If it wasn't a mainstream credible source I would say this was totally made up. Shocking. I have to admit when I use my credit card I don't even check half the time but now I am going to make sure. I...

Argentina’s elections: an explainer for Donald Trump

Thank you for posting this. This is what I don't understand. They have so little support. Even if they do very well most of this country is socialists and never will support Milei. Zero chance of absolute majority by Milei in either house even if they kill the elections and do very well which...

Anyone got any overstay "horror stories" ?

I had a nightmare situation many years ago. I posted on this thread below. I was overstaying for many years and don't deny it. Everyone said no problems at all but I don't think most talk about when they have a horrible situation like this so they don't draw attention to themselves. I wish more...

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

@overstayed - It was pretty horrible. I got stuck in a room for about 3 hours. They only gave me some water and I begged for a coffee and they finally brought me some. Then I had to wait for the next flight out. They had me in a room and took my passport. Then to board I had to be escorted...

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

This is probably true. I'm one of the unlucky ones that got denied entry. This happened a few years ago. I'm an American citizen. This happened when they were still stamping passports so I imagine now it's even easier for them to see the cumulative days you've been in Argentina between...
