Where to find Ficciones by Borges?

Does anyone know where I might find a copy of Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges, ideally an older edition? I’m starting to explore Argentine authors, and Borges is one of the greatest, so I’d love to begin with this classic.

Is it possible to live in Buenos Aires without a driver's license?

Absolutely! Public transport is fantastic, although it does have the occasional strike. I didn’t have a car for about 4 years and was totally fine. Public transportation and taxis were my go-to. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, and honestly, having a car is more of a hassle in the...

Newcomer Passing on some advice about tourist SIM cards/chips

Many kioscos in tourist areas have staff ready to help, and the self-service machines are designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. So, while not all Open 25 kioscos have self-service machines, you're more likely to find them in areas like Palermo. Plus, the staff at these kioscos are...

Newcomer Passing on some advice about tourist SIM cards/chips

You can see the locations of Open 25 kioscos on Google, for example, in Palermo. You really spot them everywhere, and sometimes there are even two on the same block...

Seeking Help: Doubts and Fears Before Starting Therapy

Try Liz, she’s amazing. Big hugs to you. It’s perfectly okay to ask for help when you need it, don’t feel bad about it. Sometimes we all need a little support, and there’s no shame in that.

Axel Kicillof (the Governor of Buenos Aires) is a moron

Kicillof has authorized the distribution of play materials in public schools across the province, which has caused quite a stir. I support sexual education, but this doesn’t seem like education; it feels more like promotion.

Transport Strike to paralyze Argentina in repudiation of taxation reforms - 2024

Isn't it ironic that the union leaders organizing these strikes and protests, like the Moyanos, live in gated communities and pay rents of $5,500? It really contradicts the populist image they try to project, haha!

Medical Healthcare medical monthly premiums are going to get increased!

The skyrocketing increases in private health insurance continue, and the coverage is no longer what it used to be. They’ve reduced the available services and even charge copays for medical care. It’s truly ridiculous that prices are doubling beyond inflation. This is why the government is once...

Is the Expat party in Buenos Aires coming to an end?

Haha, as someone said here, he's only been here a few months and thinks he knows everything about BA. Out of respect for the locals, he should speak in English.😂

Is the Expat party in Buenos Aires coming to an end?

That’s exactly what I was going to say. His YouTube videos are great, showing how beautiful Buenos Aires is, but his Twitter posts make him look like an idiot. Who’s he trying to convince about how things should be here? I think he’s totally off base, this isn’t the U.S.

Newcomer Argentina: Top Choice for Digital Nomads

Argentina is definitely still the best option, not just because of its economy but also because of its society and culture. I've lived here for years, and I wouldn't trade this country for anything.
