    Great Airbnb rental in Palermo

That is what I did too back in 2003 when I hired @BuySellBA to buy 2 units for me in Soho. From the first meeting he was very clear what he would do. He didn't promise me any ROI and the first thing he said was I can't promise you anything but he opened his books and showed me their rentals...

They Charged You $2,350 to Leave. Now They’re Calling It Fair.

Agree this site has been super informative. I mostly lurk and just read posts. It's the only place I can come daily and find out information about Argentina. I realize life in the eyes of expats is not always too realistic as many are angry at the increased cost of living but we can balance it...

The USA inflation infex does not include food or energy prices

I saw an article where Milei said inflation would go to 0% before he finishes his first term. Ouch. Talk about a promise you can't keep.

How Expats Protect Their Money From Argentina’s Inflation

Any time someone promises a return like that it is typically a Ponzi scheme. I am not sure how this is sustainable for the government and banks to pay 30% interest rates. And that is even with rates coming down. The bicycle finance sounds like it is still in full swing. Thank you for sharing...

Real Estate Sales Neighborhood by neighborhood: What is the price of a garage for sale in Buenos Aires in July 2025? - La Nación Propiedades

I know Mateo. He works in the office that sold my apartment a few years ago. His co-worker Pablo sold my apartment and they did a great job. Solid people. I mostly dealt with Pablo but they work in the same office. Garage spaces should keep going up in value. They are knocking many of these...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Thanks for sharing. I don't know enough about the difference between federal or good state universities. I was told that my friend's kid went to a good university in Brazil. I will ask which one. But coming out of school and applying for good positions in the US they did not get hired...

Apartment Rental The rental data that surprised property investors - La Nacion Propiedades

Times like this I am glad I own vs. rent. I have so many friends in BA that are forced to move out now as the owners want a lot more money. Moving anywhere is a hassle but especially in BA so I'm told.

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Definitely agree that kids are the big difference. I have some friends that moved to Brazil and Argentina with kids. They enjoyed their time there but their kids were not able to get into good colleges. They ended up going to private universities in Brazil and Argentina which I believe are...

Being Black in Argentina: Experiences and Acceptance

I always wondered about those type of buildings where you need a key to leave. My friends near the USA embassy are all like that. There is no doorman. These would not be compliant in the USA in the event of an emergency but this keeps potential thieves from exiting the building.

Follow the "Golden Rule" on ExpatsBA - Be polite, courteous or don't post on this forum

That is actually more or less the truth. They want to open the flood gates for at the hundred of billions that Argies have in cash. But it is telling that Finance Minister Caputo has almost all his cash and investments outside of Argentina. When he moves his over you probably know it's safe...

Did many expats move out of Buenos Aires due to the higher cost of living?

I'm not surprised. During the entire drama when this forum was created I posted and they deleted my posts. It seems like most people have migrated to this forum. For kicks I just asked Gemini what the best expat forums are for Buenos Aires and here was the response. Surprising BAexpats...

New wave of shutdowns and layoffs puts Argentine industry on alert

I sold one of them at the peak in 2017 thanks to the suggestion of Mike. I didn't want to sell both of them. I'm paying about 425,000 ($300 dollars) per month for a studio apartment in Palermo Soho. It is full service with 24/7 security, pool and large gym. I heard that isn't bad. Some are...

Transitioning from the British Curriculum: What to Expect for Year 7 Students in Argentina?

Wait your child only had 3 days of school in February but you have to pay tuition for the entire month? Is this normal in Argentina?

New wave of shutdowns and layoffs puts Argentine industry on alert

It has mostly been boom and bust cycles. I remember when people thought Macri was the great hope. He chickened out. I wouldn't want to own a business in Argentina. The safest thing to me was to follow what all the other rich Argentines do and they just keep stacking real estate. I bought my...

Summary of the new proposed labor reform

I always remember the stories you told me Mike about some of the things you were dealing with in Argentina. I remember thinking to myself I would never want to own a company there. A good place to come on vacation or maybe retire but not so much to own a business. This is what I worry about...
