What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Crime is rampant in Rio. You have to watch yourself, especially if you're a gringo and stick out. BA is much safer.

Argentina’s textile sector reels as import surge hits job

I don't feel sorry for the owners of these factories. I do feel for the employees. Many of them will probably go months without finding another job. A wave of layoffs in that entire sector.

2 Year requirement to stay inside Argentina and not leave to get Citizenship - Has anyone got permission to leave?

A friend of mine applied for citizenship 2 months before that announcement. I think anyone already in process of applying was ok but new applications are SOL. Seems like a silly rule but seems like they are sticking to it for new applications.

Argentine Leader Draws Fire After Cratering of Crypto Coin He Promoted - New York Times

Trump did something similar. Hell I think Melania used the same exact person to scam her coin too. You don't hate these politicians enough.

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

The government said they were going to crack down on this. A few friends also got warnings leaving for Brazil and coming back. Habitual overstayers. Looks like they will need to get legal.

International Tourism in Argentina in 2025 down 20% while Argentines leaving the country up 38.6% This reflects a wider imbalance seen over the full year 2025, when 8,775,600 international tourists arrived, a 19.7% drop from 2024, and 18,836,900 Argentine tourists departed, a 38.6% increase...

Meat-loving Argentines shun beef as inflation bites

Don Julio you can get in now with no reservation. That was unheard of just a few years ago. I don't think it is worth it today. Just full of tourists.

Meat-loving Argentines shun beef as inflation bites

Prices are on par with US prices for steaks at good quality. I like Madre Rojas which has very good quality beef but at better prices than Don Julio. The is from last week.

    Black people in Argentina

I have been here off and on a few months and while I don't think that people are racist here I think that people can be a bit colder with black people. I don't know if it is me being black or just an American. My Spanish is ok but sometimes when I am speaking people will act like they can't...

How can the food here be so bad ?

I heard BA has made a lot of progress over the years but I think the steaks here are overrated. Not bad but many places it is just normal. You would think in a country with such good beef there would be better burgers. I would love to get an amazing smash burger. People always rave about the...

I'm Doing It - Becoming an Expat

Congrats @daveholman for taking the plunge. BA is a great city. I also am making the full time move soon. Keep us posted how your experience goes with applying for residency here. What category are you applying? The rentista?

Food & Drink What is up with high prices of fast food prices?

I am also shocked how packed the MCDonalds are with a supposedly bad economy. Some of the people don't look like they have much money but they are here which is strange. Prices are out of whack. Prices are more than the US.
