Wow @carrider you had 2 DUI's and didn't have any issues? I thought Argentina wouldn't allow you to get DNI if you had arrests. Or maybe because you got arrested a long time ago? Does anyone know what the actual laws are? My friend had a recent DUI and didn't think he would be allowed but if...
I heard @StatusNomadicus got banned from this forum. I haven't seen posts for a while.
BCRA still uses MEP rates. All the rates have more or less merged together I think. I liked it better when the blue dollar was double of the white.
Gotta hand it to Argentina. I didn't think they would pay. Thought they would default.

There aren't too many highrises in Palermo Soho at all because of the zoning. There are a few high buildings but typically not that high. Over in Palermo Hollywood there are more highrises. Being 25 floors up definitely would cut down on noise no matter where in the city you are in.
Seems like a great exchange rate. Hopefully more and more stores will do the same thing. I thought there would be a bigger spread on the blue and white dollar but I guess the government is heavily intervening. If they stopped that, the rate would probably explode upwards.
Only in Argentina would you have headlines like this.

Agreed. I understand if they want to give some discount to people that are poor but I still don't understand why they need my details to ride the subway and if I don't give them I have to pay a higher price. Doesn't make sense to me?

You sound like you have a cushy job to go back to in the USA but many people don't. I have lots of friends struggling there.
There's this oh-so-thriving "very low income middle class" that's practically living the dream, trying to make ends meet. They're playing this exciting game of survival...
I went to Guayaquil for work quite a bit before. I'm sorry but that city is a dump! Very very very ugly city. No way in hell I'd live there.
Quito is not as ugly but still NO Buenos Aires. But then again no city is. I doubt I could ever leave Buenos Aires. No city would compare to me.
Recently, my sister in law conducted an interview at Islands International School situated in Belgrano. Her favorable impressions emanate from its bilingual curriculum, structured around the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This distinctive approach entails half-day instruction in...
I agree! I only need to come to ExpatsBA for all my Milei news! Ha. Well this is either going to end up really really good for Argentina or really really bad.
The Blue Dollar won't stay in parity or close like this with the official for long. Do you really think I a few months the blue dollar isn't going to skyrocket? What you are seeing is only temporary. If you have USD you will see your buying power go back up. But true it won't help the locals...
The Milei Derangement Syndrome appears to be causing some to fixate on the issue of black robes rather than acknowledging the core objective, which is the implementation of jury trials. It's intriguing how Milei faces criticism for both offering insufficient details and providing an excess of...
