Argentina’s textile sector reels as import surge hits job

Nailed it! Too much friction here. Too many taxes and fees. Danger Will Robinson!

Is there anywhere to buy reasonably priced almonds here in BA

Define reasonably priced?? Everything here is terribly expensive. My issue with chorizo here is it's too salty for me.

Expatsba's Top 50 restaurants (according to grok)

All look good but too rich for my blood. A freaking Choripan at that place is so freaking expensive now.

The Baker and the President (out this week)

Chapter Two: The Service Entrance The Plaza de Mayo was a black ocean of rain and whipping wind. The palm trees thrashed against the night sky, their fronds bending like broken umbrellas. Usually, the plaza was the city’s stage—a place for protests, for the beating of drums, for the furious...

The Baker and the President (out this week)

I wrote my own story. If anyone wants to buy me a coffee I will post my alias and you can buy me a coffee. :) Chapter One: The Arithmetic of Ruin The rain in Buenos Aires did not wash things clean; it only made the decay heavier. In La Boca, the summer thunderstorm battered the corrugated...

More than 20,000 Kiosks closed in Argentina over the past year (50 per day)

Agree. Sad but maybe there aren't meant to be a corner store on every block. That isn't realistic. You don't see that in Manhattan anywhere.

Homelessness is on the rise in Buenos Aires - Up 57% in the last 2 years

There are clearly more people living on the streets in Buenos Aires now. I live and work in Retiro, and the increase compared to last year is really noticeable. Official figures still place Buenos Aires far below cities like Los Angeles in total numbers. But comparisons only go so far. What...

Very high electricity bill all of a sudden?

And I heard the bill is going up again next month. I think this will ultimately be the reason for their downfall. Too much too soon.

Any hope of getting permanent residency with misdemeanor showing up on my FBI background check?

Probably not ideal for his new bride. I honestly think as long as the arrests are nothing serious and he gets them expunged he has a shot. When you are already married it falls under family reunification grounds. I think they would be more flexible at migraciones. That would not be a good start...

Any hope of getting permanent residency with misdemeanor showing up on my FBI background check?

Argentina is mainly interested in crimes involving violence, anything drug trafficking related, serious criminal convictions, fraud, crimes with significant prison time, active warrants. Argentina is going to see all of these factors. Expungement helps a lot because it shows the US courts...

Argentina's wine industry faces deepest crisis in two decades

It's not just the wine industry. You name it and anything made in Argentina is going belly up. Car plants are all stalling or going to shut down. Carrefour is planning to completely pull out of Argentina. Hell the Economic Minister of Argentina said in an interview he never in his life...

Medical Clinic recommendation to get STD (sexually transmitted disease) and STI (sexually transmitted infection) blood testing?

Many places they have both options so ask them. Trinidad Medical Center has the urine. My cousin works for the USA Embassy and had to get one and they only accepted urine test. I'm not sure why he had to get tested but he claims they made him for work. :ROFLMAO:

Inflation in Buenos Aires: 1.6% in May, the Lowest Figure in 5 Years

How long is this government going to keep blaming the people in office before? They have to take responsibility for when things don't turn out so rosy either.
