New wave of shutdowns and layoffs puts Argentine industry on alert

I just watched a video of these employees at Cocoa getting fired. This is happening all over Argentina. Are there going to be enough replacement jobs for all of these people??? If so, where? What type of jobs.

Why Amazon.com is struggling to crack Argentina

Matanza must be a high crime area. I just saw this online today and it was in Matanza.

Are salaries this low for expats or locals???

I saw this survey online today but I don't know how credible it is. It says the average private sector salary closed 2025 at 1,798,332 pesos ($1,225 USD) per month, with a year-over-year variation of 44.34%, according to a survey conducted by Grupo Ceta, based on information collected from job...

    Newcomer Power cuts this summer

Well there is a lot of blackouts in CABA today. I was wondering why the subway and train lines are not running and they said it was the black outs. My power went out in Palermo today...

Interested to move to Buenos Aires from the US. Is $5k enough to live on?

True. Price high but salaries like third world country. Some professionals make decent money but many of my friends have good jobs but it is not much. Maybe less than $2k a month.

Taxi from EZE airport or Uber?

I find those longer rides from the city to the airport or airport to the city are a good bargain. What is painful is sometimes the rate between two close distances is expensive. Palermo to Recoleta sometimes now is over 12,000 pesos so that ride to the airport is cheap but two neighborhoods is...

Banking Getting dollars into Argentina to purchase real estate

Is this for real? I refuse to believe that anyone is stupid enough to really carry this amount of cash on international flight. Can the US government really take your cash? Why they care? Even if you have paperwork from your bank that you withdraw it? This sounds bizarre all of the cash.

Best steak sandwich in the world - La Rambla (Recoleta)

Not cheap but a very good steak sandwich! I came here based on this post this past weekend and very tender sandwich. A lot of tourists and foreigners here. I thought I would avoid the lunch crowd but it was still busy at 4 pm. Very recommended.

Is rice better in Brazil ?

Yes surprising especially being across the street from the 4 Seasons! It was at a great parilla called Piegari Carnes. It is literally across the street from the 4 Seasons Hotel in Recoleta. The place is huge and the waiters dress up. I think it has incredible carne for the prices. And with...

Is rice better in Brazil ?

I was surprised to get 20% off paying cash but I was going to use a credit card eating steak in Recoleta and they really wanted me to use cash. He saw it in my wallet. Then he offered 20% to pay with cash instead of a credit card. I took it!

Is rice better in Brazil ?

I don't think those electronics stores offer cash discounts. But so far most restaurants still do. It is a good savings now from 10% to 20% off. Adds up.

Argentina will be in the group of countries that support the defense of Ukraine against the Russian invasion

I wish he would just focus on Argentina. Very little to benefit going all the way to Ukraine while his country has so many problems. Seems like a waste of money. Or does he still plan on making weapons for the Ukraine? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
